Native des Cantons de l'Est, Marie-Thérèse est la benjamine d'une famille de quatorze
enfants. Après une adolescence passée dans son patelin, elle part à l'aventure pour finalement s'établir à Montréal.
Curieuse et menée par sa passion des arts, elle s'incrit, en 1977, à des cours avec le réputé et talentueux
Frère Jérôme Paradis. Les quatre prochaines années sont consacrées à peaufiner son style unique et sa technique.
En 1981, sous le nom de Jones, elle participe à différentes expositions de groupe
et en solo. Marie-Thérèse connaît alors un franc succès autant à Montréal qu'en province. En 1986, elle reprend sa signature
originale, soit ''Lacroix''. C'est sous ce nom, déjà très reconnu, qu'elle déménage à Philadelphie et obtient un diplôme de
la ''University of Pennsylvania Arts Faculty''. Elle mentionne: '' C'est à cet endroit que j'ai vraiment amélioré ma
technique et affectionné mon médium préféré qu'est l'acrylique.''
Elle vit dans les Laurentides depuis l'an 2000 et s'est jointe à Arts Morin Heights
en 2006. Membre du comité exécutif en tant que relationniste depuis 2007.

Born and raised in the Eastern Townships, Marie-Thérèse is the youngest of fourteen
children.. As a young adult, she decides to pack her bags and set out to seek a different lifestyle. She discovers and
falls in love with Montreal. It is here, that she finds a passion for the fine arts and enrolls in art classes under
the tutelage of the renowned and talented artist, Frère Jérôme Paradis. During her four year studies at the "LA Partance"
studio of the Collège Notre-Dame, she develops her own artistic style and technique.
In the 1980's, Marie-Thérèse, well knowned as Jones, exhibits her work in group
and solo shows. She achieves great success in Montreal as well as elsewhere in the Province of Québec. In 1995, after
changing her ''nom de plume'' back to Lacroix, she moves to Philadelphia where she graduates with honors from
the University of Pennsylvania Art Faculty.
She says: '' My years at the University greatly improved my brushwork and made me
discover a love for acrylics which has become my medium of choice.''
Marie-Thérèse moved in the Laurentians in 2002, joined Arts Morin-Heights in
2006 and has become its Public Relations coordinator. She has participated in the groups exhibitions since 2007.
