Exposition Guidelines
for the Salle de la Culture
Only
local Artists who are members in good standing with the organisation Arts Morin Heights or recognised cultural organisations are eligible to exhibit their work on the walls in the
Salle de la Culture.
· Exhibition objects must be of an artistic nature or of historical interest to the local community.
· Artwork must be submitted to Arts Morin Heights for selection and acceptance according to the following deadline:
Semptember 28th, for the 12-months
period of October-September (inclusive).
· Subject matter must be suitable for displaying before a general public of all ages.
· Exposed work must fit flat against the walls, so as not to obstruct regular activities held in the room.
· Art work is to be hung from chains supplied by the Municipality
· All artwork to be displayed must be padded with foam cushions on the underside of all surfaces in order to protect
the walls on which they will be hung from damage.
· Artwork may be identified by a small number placed on the work. Details
regarding the exposed work may be explained in a leaflet to be made available to the public in the room. Other than the number, no other information may be posted next to or on the artwork.
· The Artist is responsible for hanging his/her artwork for display on the walls under the supervision of Arts Morin
Heights.
· Artwork must be framed and suitably finished for displaying.
· The Artist is responsible for removing his/her artwork at the end of the display period.
· Artwork that is sold prior to the end of the exposition, must remain on the walls until the end of the agreed period
of exposition, unless approval is obtained from Arts Morin Heights to have it replaced by another approved piece.
· If an artwork is sold, the artists will
donate 15% of proceeds from the sale
to the Comité des Bénévoles de la Bibliothèque de Morin-Heights.
· Exposing artists will be required to sign an exposition agreement and waver, releasing the Municipality, Arts Morin
Heights, the volunteers, and any users of the room from responsibility for any damages, theft, vandalism, or loss of art work
on display or in storage.
